your lookin at a new engine or engine work
Yes!!! Oils contains a metal shavings but it is not harmful...
Serious engine wear.
It could be the reflection off of metal shavings that have worn off the gears.
It means there is a problem. You should cease operation of your bike and bring it to a technician immediately.
Can be many things. Rod or bearing damage. I would have the oil pressure checked, and also probably pull the pan and see what is going on. Metal shavings in the oil is a very bad sign.
That means the engine is TRASH... It has either lost some bearings are cam and lifters are worn out.
A lot depends on the TYPE of metal shavings you have in the pan. Larger "pieces" of shiny metal can often be broken rings and will be accommodated by oil burning, rough running, etc. Much smaller fragments can be rod bearings. Much depends on how the engine is running. More info on that would be helpful
Inside of your valve cover you will find a magnet. It's main purpose is to keep metal shavings from getting into your engine oil. If the shavings were to make it into your oil it can mess it up
It usually means you're going to have to do some work to your engine. Most of the time, the metal shavings are pieces of one or more of your bearings. Never a good sign. Unfortunately it usually means that the bearings have "touched down" against the crankshaft and there's serious trouble.
air filters clean the dirt while oil filters strain the used oil eliminating the tiny metal shavings from the engine
not recommended you will only cause more damage
In and of itself, no. That's usually a sign of a main bearing going out, though.
