Actually, mice aren't that excited by cheese. There was a report about mice & cheese, which said that "A mouse will eat cheese", but it didn't indicate it was a favourite, or well loved food, or that they would ignore other foods.
Additionally, chocolate is poisonous for mice. They lack an enzyme important in the digestion of chocolate. There ARE doggie chocolates that you can buy, because dogs can't eat chocolate either, so you could buy that for them, & I'm sure they'd really enjoy it.
I've found that mice just love crackers, breads, cookies, and crumb donuts! They also enjoy french fries.
None of these foods should be a steady diet, but they make swell treats.
