Red ladybugs eat grass plants and every so often eat veg tables in either a garden or a field, they can also drink nectar or pollen from plants and drink water.
In fact lady birds, hardly ever eat or drink- probably about once-twice a day, for most of their day's time is taken up by curling up into a ball :-)

∙ 14y agoRed ladybirds eat many different types of food. Normally they eat aphids and scale insects and they are useful to farmers. They too feed on fresh green leaves on plants and they drink the sap from it.

∙ 13y agoScale insects and moisture are what both the metallic blue ladybug (Curinus coeruleus) and the Mulsant ladybird beetle (Thalassa montezumae) respectively feed upon and drink.
Specifically, the metallic blue ladybug is native to the Caribbean whereas the Mulsant ladybird beetle is native to Mexico. Additionally, the metallic blue ladybug will eat aphids and Asian citrus psyllids.
