Librarians can work in public, school, academic or special libraries. They can do a wide range of tasks from management to reference work to reader's advisory to information literacy instruction to systems development and management. Librarians work with information in all formats and connect people with that information. They teach people how to critically analyze the information they find. They can also collect people with great literature, great music or great film. They can change lives.

Look for books and read them i(n the library or take them to the desk and check them out).
Nowadays, these are the things that you can do in the library:

  • Read
  • Research
  • Surf the internet
  • Download e-books

You might even see a library yet see no books at all. Like the first all digital library in San Antonio, Texas. Very nice, eh?

Librarians manage the library by hiring employees to keep the building clean and working well. They hire janitors, plumbers, electricians, etc. They hire circulation staff to check out the books and clerks to shelve the books. They make sure that there is someone to open and close the library on time.
