There is no specific traditional food consumed during Christmas time since Turkey is predominantly Muslim and most people do not celebrate Christmas. However, many people will roast a Turkey or Chicken for New Years.

That very much depends on the people. Thanksgiving is an American celebration, so the native Turks don't eat anything particularly special. Why would they? It's just another day of the year to them.

However, do Americans abroad in Turkey eat the traditional turkey dinner? Sure, if they want to.

The turkey bird was first exported to Europe from the US by the Spaniards via the country of Turkey - hence how it got its name. Coincidentally, the native Americans referred to the bird as "Peru". Strange how one animal can have two names, both of which it shares with countries!

The food eaten for breakfast in Turkey is similar to the food found in a typical Western breakfast. Fresh Turkish bread is usually served with butter, honey, jam, feta cheese and olives. Tea is usually served to wash down the food at breakfast.
