It is unfortunate, but an image of War and the threat of War, Hitler and the Holocaust seems to be imprinted in peoples psyche. Perhaps no Public Relations effort to upgrade its status will be possible for another generation. That is unfortunate for such a wonderful nation filled with such gracious and hospitable citizens.

This is what I think when someone says it to me. If I thought about it more in depth, I would think of the Berlin Wall, festivals and all the cities.
