But new research conducted with an open mind has shown that reptiles can learn some things. Since it is new research, the breadth and depth of what reptiles learn is not specifically known, yet. In this University of Rochester article, "Snakes Show Surprising Ability to Learn", it is reported that snakes learned to escape from a complicated bucket with holes in it.
New York Times: "Cold Blooded Does Not Mean Stupid". In this article it is reported that a tortoise learned to navigate a maze and lizards learned to get food out of a trap door.
