These are hard to make and are made in large batches only a few times a year. Rosca de Reyes (Three Kings bread) is a sweat bread shaped in a wreath. A little baby Jesus doll is baked inside and whoever gets the doll has to provide the food for the next party which is Candlemas, February 2nd. A special salad, ensalada de Navidad, contains diced cooked beets, carrots, Oranges, apples, fresh pineapple, bananas, unsalted nuts, and the seeds of the pomegranate dressed with a lemon or lime dressing is traditional. There are Christmas drinks Ponche Navideno a brandied punch, and Chocolate Calinete which is a Hot Chocolate flavored with cinnamon.
