खीट (kheet).

It is a small red berry grown and popular in US & England. However it is never eaten raw because it is highly tart & little bitter also. It is only consumed as cranberry juice by adding apple juice or sugar or other sweetners to lower down its tartness. In India it is not grown, only imported in the form of juice or dried. Its standard Hindi nameकरन्द (karand) makes confusion with करौन्दा ( karaunda-conkerberry) which is a diffrent black berry grows in warm & arid areas of India & Australia.
