There are some Nurse Midwives that are RNs with special training in obstetrics and Nurse Practitioners who also work in maternity care. Depending on where you live Midwives are the ones who will deliver your baby. They are highly trained professionals. In a hospital setting they are Registered Nurses that become certified nurse practitioners that then go on to another certification in midwifery.
