check the contactor. the points are probably welded together caused by high voltage arcing.
with the compressor running.
Check the capacitor located inside the outside condensing unit, usually the fan, compressor are wired together,if one is running the other should be running
Is it a central unit? check and see if the fan and compressor are running in the outdoor unit. The system may be low on freon or the compressor may not be running. It is best to call a qualified HVAC technician.
the compressor is not running. Check your breakers.
You probably will need to put a valve on that compressor unless it has a port already. Then you hook up your guages and check the pressure. Do you know if the compressor is running or not?
It could be that the unit is overcharged and the compressor is shutting down on overload. Check to see if the compressor is running when the hot air starts blowing.
Look to see if the compressor is running when the ac is on. If not, then check the Freon pressure, as the compressor won't run if the Freon is low.
check and see if evaporator coil restricted, coil frozen, if not check pressures sounds like unit running but not shutting down, if coil frozen oil may be carried from compressor and leaving compressor with no lubrication repair before burning out compressor.
First check the pressure of low and high side, for R22 they should be around 60 and 250 respectively. Second check the temperature of the compressor by touching it lightly from bottom to top. where you can feel the level of oil present in it Third .(Cut the power supply before touching it) if the compressor is not running at all, check the electric continuity between terminals and body, if no connectivity is checked then check resistance between terminals of compressor
Compressor not running? Check fuses, check switch
More than likely. Ensure the outdoor unit is running and that the compressor is running. Also check your filter.
You have only two this that can cause this and you need to first check to see if there is any freon in the system and if so then check the a/c electrical system..........
