First, just do what is proper to remove any object as if you hadn't rubbed the eye. The only thing that has changed by rubbing the eye is that you most likely have damaged the eye further. You would then want to see a doctor to prevent any possible infection and blindness. Scratches on the eye lens cannot be seen and must be treated by a professional right away or there is a serious possibility of diminished vision or blindness.
Remember, if you are treating yourself, you can decide for yourself if you want to take a chance, but if you are taking care of someone else then the proper thing to do is to protect that person's vision no matter what the inconvenience. Only a doctor has the tools to determine if it will recover on its own.
