You need to see another vet. Before doing this, pour boiling water over a tea bag. LET THE TEA BAG COOL WELL! Then dampen the tea bag slightly and try placing it over one of the dog's eyes. Leave for 10 - 15 seconds, do the other eye. Try this for a day (the acids in the tea bag are healing) and if this doesn't work (the infection is too bad) please go to another vet. Your dog may have a serious eye condition and it may not be Allergies at all.

If the second vet does find that your dogs problems are caused by allergies, you can also try using homeopathic medications to treat the allergy symptoms. I have heard that homeopathic remedies are very safe to use, even babies and pets can use adult homeopathic remedies. One great homeopathic website that has remedies for allergies is sinuswars.com.

Good luck Marcy

Try taking your dog off dry food. Itchy, weepy eyes can be a wheat intolerance, or indicate a yeast imbalance in the body. Don't feed the dog table scraps either. I put my dogs on a raw foods diet, and their recovery from many age problems was miraculous. However, if they get even one dog biscuit from a kind stranger, they get weepy eyes the next morning and I have to wash their eyes with cool water..

Yeah, it costs more to have them on a raw diet, but their quality of life is about as good as it can be.

SAME AS ANSWER 2!!! But if you talk to hunters, meat processors, let people know you will take their freezer burned meat, and by lots of whatever you can find on a good sale, (I got chicken leg quarters for $.59 a lb) it can be cheaper than dry dog food.

How do you reduce your dogs swollen lip?

Hard to say without knowing why the lip is swollen. That said, cold packs/ice packs are most frequently used to reduce swelling from tissue damage or bruising. Make sure whatever caused the swelling is treated as well.

Why would you combine fluconazole and azithromycin?

Because you have both a fungal infection (fluconazole) and a bacterial infection (azithromycin). Without knowing more about what's going on, I'm not willing to make any guesses about what specific disease is being treated, sorry.

Can you have an infection without a fever?

Yes, One could have a very serious infection without having a fever. If it hurts and the area is swollen or red... go to a doctor. I am starting week 4 of recovering from an infection that made it almost impossible for me to walk for over a week and the wounds have been very hard to heal and I still can't walk normally... I never had a temperature above normal and sometimes was even slightly below normal.

Why do you have large painless swollen lymph nodes in your neck and a very very itchy scalp if your 14 years old and apparently not fighting off infection?

An itchy scalp and swollen lymph nodes in the neck do not seem to have any correlation between the two. Fever is the #1 sign of infection, and you have to be very concerned if a lymph node is swollen along with fever. However, you can have a sore throat, tooth ache, or abscess in the gum, without fever that will bring on a swollen lymph node in the neck. This is very common, and when the aliment is resolved, the swelling usually goes away. I think it's just coincidental that you have an itchy scalp along with the swelling....

Do swollen and chapped lips relate to pancreatic cancer?

i have seen patients with pancreatic cancer with this condition, yes but usually it is a more common issue, such as a food allergy or salivary gland infection. With pancreatic cancer u have other symptoms aswell, tiredness, weightloss, vomiting, fever, swollen lymph nodes. If its just swollen lip without any other symptoms than it is probably a food allergy or salivary gland infection. This is not a diagnosis and you should consult your physician if you are worried, it is probably something that is not serious but see your doctor just to be sure.

What does it mean when a horse has swollen nipples?

Well if the mare is pregnant it means she is getting very close to foaling, especially if they are dripping milk/colostrum. If however the mare is swollen without being pregnant it can mean she has an infection and might need a course of antibiotics to clear it up and make her more comfortable.

How do you cure swollen lymph nodes behind ears?

If it is a lymph node that is swollen and painful, you should see a doctor to have it diagnosed and treated. Sometimes the salivary glands can be painful and swollen in front of the ear if the duct that the saliva flows through to your mouth gets blocked. If it is only on one side, came on very suddenly and perhaps while you were eating, that might be the cause of the swelling. If so, sometimes you can wash out the plug by eating something very sour to make lots of saliva flow through the saliva duct, such as sucking on a lemon. If that does not quickly resolve the problem, then definitely seek medical attention, swollen lymph nodes can indicate infection and other disorders that need to be treated without delay.
