Sometimes the Police have trouble with arresting someone for a crime when there are little to no pieces of evidence or witnesses.
If you have any red marks, bruising, or witnesses that were present during the alternation, you may wish to have the witness write a sworn statement and visit your prosecutors office to file charges yourself.

There are no statutes of limitations on the prosecution of homicide or murder.
