Ignore them, make sure that the people in your real and actual life, family, friends, bosses, co-workers are aware that an ex is attempting to sabotage you, and give them your true social networking account names, ask them to ignore others and if they choose not to, then they are not people you wish to have in your life anyway. Keep your social networking accounts set to private where only friends can view, and ignore all attempts of your ex to contact you or upset you in any way. Even if you feel upset, don't let them know that. The more you feed them with reactions, the longer they will continue. Eventually when they stop getting any reactions from you either from you personally, or from others who tell them how you're reacting, they will grow tired of it and move on.
Another PerspectiveIf that person is writing things about you online that are not true or designed to damage your reputation make certain to print out every example including the date and the source. If they contact your friends, relatives, co-workers or employers ask them to provide you with a print out of the correspondence. You have legal options. You may be able to file a police complaint or file a lawsuit if you suffer any damages. You should speak with an attorney.
