What do you do if you flood your engine trying to start your 2000 Chevy cavalier i think the engine may be flooded. it cranks when i try to start it but with no start.?

Let it set for about 2 hours or push the accelerator pedal to the floor and hold it there while turning the engine over. Rarely do fuel injected engines flood. If they do then something is wrong with the firing system.

It depends on which engine your trying to swap. The 2.2L OHV engine will work in a 99 from a 2002 because it was the same engine. But if it's a Z24 model the 2.2L DOHC engine will not fit a 99 because the 99 used the old 2.4L Quad 4 in the Z24 models and some LS sedan models.

There are several things that could cause an engine to turn over without starting. Determining the cause partially depends upon whether or not the engine is trying to fire or if it just cranks.
