Firstly consider if something may be coursing the howling/crying. Consider if she is in pain, in discomfort. Is she eating probably? Sleeping probably? Cats do not have facial expressions - such adds to why cats have the reputation of being aloof and such - with the lack of facial expressions they express themselves through tail movements, purring, meowing and growling.
I have a howling cat, whenever she wants anything. She is a rescued cat and this howling tends to be her showing she wishes to go outside, where she has been most of her life. So generally I find the howling to display something. Try to figure out what it is, watch her, look at her, when does it begin? Try giving her food, comfort, a gentle stroke and if everything else fails, try taking her to your vet to have a chat because something medical could be wrong.

∙ 12y agoIf you mean screaming "MEOW!" so loud the neighbors could probably hear it then... you should Duct Tape its mouth shut and put it in a pillow! LOL! Just joking, give it some canned cat food, a little warm milk and a little room temperature milk (some cats hate warm milk, in personal experience they usaully do) and leave it in peace. If that doesn't work then try putting some lightly cooked fish in a food processor and (process it, lol) give it to it and leave it in peace. Remember that most cats like to eat by themselves (some of mine liked for me to toss their little pieces of food at them so they could pounce on them). If that doesn't work then warm up some wool (winter works the same) pijamas (winter works the same) and put it in it.
If it is litteraly crying (tears) I don't know...
You throw it across the room and see if it lands on its four legs and if it does then it will be in shock that you threw it and it will stop crying.
