What do you do if your mother doesnt believe you if you say you're bisexual?

As with all things, honesty is the key. The only way you are ever going to be able to express yourself to your mother is by being honest and not holding anything back. I know i make it sound easy, but i do understand the difficulty in this situation. The longer you wait the harder it will be to deal with the situation. Actually, I wouldn't worry about it. You don't say how old you are, but if you are old enough to be dating your mother will probably want to meet your date -- that may do it.

Actually, your mother may be hiding from what she really knows. It's not your job to force her to come to grips with this. She will do it in her own time. Your job is to become the best person you can be.

Give up trying to tell them. I am in the exact same situation, and have 'come out' to my parents 3 times. I have finally come to the conclusion that I don't care whether they believe me or not- it is a fact and it will never change, and it is my business not theirs, so whether they believe it or not doesn't matter.

They don't need to believe it. They know, you've told them, that's all you need to do. Now ignore their opinion on it, move on, and enjoy your life and they will have to deal with it- you do not have to 'come out' as straight, why should you have to 'come out' as bi? Just date who you want to date, and they should accept it. If they complain, simply say you came out to them and it was their choice not to believe it and accept it and talk about it.

My view with my parents is that they missed their chance- I told them and gave them the chance to ask questions and discuss it and accept it, but they didn't. I gave them three chances and they turned them all down. So now I don't want to talk bout it with them, and I feel so much better and free.

Bottom line- don't worry about it. Date who you want to date, and it is their own fault that they dismissed the opportunity to listen and understand.

Okay, here's what you do.

• Don't say things like "Oh mom, you're really not going to believe me" a lot of people will do something bad or stupid or maybe even be blamed for something they didn't do and panic and use this as a defense that just makes it seem like maybe you did do it.

• Bring trust into it , if you really are the reason she is upset this will convince her a little bit more just say "I can't believe that you wouldn't even trust me enough," depending on what of course the situation is. if you really didn't do it this helps more.

• Finally this last step really works the most if you didn't do it , just own up. make her feel bad like if you really didn't do it and here she is blaming you , be really sarcastic : "You know what , I'M sorry I did do it, its my fault," or

  "You got me mom I did it, lets just end all this drama now, I did it". of course those lines usually only work in a situation were you are trying to convince your mother you really didn't do it but for some of you yes they can work for lying as well.

• The most important thing i want to remind you is just keep your ground , and stick to your 1 story.
