You pay your neighbour what the chicken is worth, then keep your dog tied up or securely fenced in your yard, so he doesn't do it again! Your neighbour has the right to SHOOT your dog if it attacks his livestock!!
Nothing. You can't do anything to change it. It is all part of the dog's nature.
I would have a talk with your neighbors and try to work out a plan for your dog to play outside without it bothering the neighbors.

Another chicken. Offer to replace the same number of chickens or their replacement cost, an apology, and a promise [and keep it] to keep your dog under control or restrained. A repeat offense could end up with a citation for you and/ or loss of your dog by confiscation by animal control. If your neighbors did not call the police, you have very kind, understanding neighbors.
No. The owner may be in certain circumstances and if the dog habitually kills chickens it may be ordered that it be put down.
Well, if you DON'T want your dog to attack their chickens, you can just leash him with a leash. Good luck.
well as long if it has happened before and u have called police about it and the police gave u permission if it happened again
Though some breeds are hardier than others, I would never recommend to someone to keep their dog as an outside dog. Outside dogs are rarely well socialized and can suffer health problems from the exposure to the elements. A sick, unsocialized dog can pose a threat to your family and your neighbors and is a liability.
You can feed chickens dog food; chickens are omnivorous and eat almost anything. The only drawback to feeding dog food to chickens is that it is more expensive than feeding them grain and other purely vegetarian type food.
you should tell them not ask them tell them to get you a new yorkie dog there dog should be put down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am so sorry for you i have a yorkie to and i love her so much she is only 8 weeks i hope you feel better
It sounds like a dog. Dogs often want to play with chickens or to inquire into what the are, leading to accidental deaths. However more than likely the Dog will have killed the chickens more as a primal instinct than anything else. Another idea may be a cat. . .

What was the breed of chicken? For a long island red this could be up to 2 years. For one of those speckled ones you only got 2 weeks.
