Toyota Avalon - 2001 - My battery died, and in the process of replacing it, the dashboard guages and information console stopped working, dead! I did a search on the internet and found: "My 98 LS400 battery drained since i left the door open accidently and interior lights were on. I did a jumpstart and the car started and everything works except for the DASHBOARD.
Everytime I start no action in the needles and no lights on Dashboard. I have seat belt light on and i can see the transmission lights (Park, Drive, Reverse) lights blinking. " The answer that was attached: I "had a similar problem on my 2000 Toyota Avalon and it was the battery. Instrument lights would not come on after some work on the car. If battery is OK, disconnect the negative lead and let system reboot. " I never thought I would need to reboot my car! Gotta love the internet!!

If the transmission is a manual and for the 2.0 non turbo its underneath the battery on the top of the transmission
There is a error on the transmission. low voltage. change or charge you battery
on top of the transmission, under your battery tray. it has a two pin connector
A blinking red light is the adapter's way of informing you of a low battery.
Problem with the charging system.
Take out the battery ;)
on my silverado it was the top mount pulley wheel for the cerpintine belt, it had some how vibrated loose. i tightened it up and the battery blinking on and off went away.
battery does not power the transmission, but it does run the computer that tells the transmission what to do
usually shows low battery....
Usually it has a lite with green red and blinking red. Green meand its good if there is no green then its blue. If its red it means it is almost out of battery. But if its blinking red then that means that it's realy close to dead.
If you reverse the connection of the battery charger you will discharge the battery. You may be able to correct the connection and charge it properly, or the battery may be ruined.
