What do you do when the windshield wiper fluid does not want to come out on a 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier?

I'm assuming that there is fluid in the bottle :-). The pump is probably not working. Turn the key to the position where the dash lights come on but the car is not running and have someone push the washer button and listen for the pump running at the washer bottle. If no noise from the pump the next step is to disconnect the wiring plug to the pump and using a test light check for power. If power is there and the pump doesn't run buy a new pump to do the repair. If there is no power there check the fuse, washer switch & wiring. If the pump runs take the hose off of it and run it and if fluid pumps out check the hoses to the washer outlets for pinched areas or being plugged. If the hoses are o/k check the nozzels to see if they're plugged.
