What do you do when you've moved town and you don't know anyone - How do you make friends when you're not at uni and you don't see the same people at work every day?

well i would try to make friends with everyone so that i wont feel alone at work all the time
Answer: Go to the pub and talk to people. I know it's hard but give it a try. See if you can get involved in any regular activities (volunteer work, evening classes, church? anything where you might meet the same people repeatedly).
Answer: Make a point of greeting the people you do see, and introducing yourself to them. Then ask for advice. "I just moved here. My name is... Can you recommend a good Pizza place?" or whatever. You also can get involved in the community. Is there a community watch program? civic organization? gardening club? little theater? band? If you attend religious services, you can also get to know the people there, especially if you join groups. Look for volunteer opportunities in the community that appeal to you (animal shelter, food pantry, literacy volunteer) and you'll get to meet other people who are making a difference.
