If your Windows Media Player does not show the video portion of a file, it means you need to download the appropriate codecto play the file. The easiest way to do that is to download a codec package, which contains the most recent codecs available.

Google: K-lite Codec Package and download the 'Basic' package. This will open most videos in Windows Media Player

It means to download a newer version of Windows Media Player.
