Sprinkle it around the yard. The rain will push it into the ground but be sure to not have thick piles, toss it around in a thin layer. Unless the yard is crazy tiny or your sand box is crazy big you can sprinkle a lot of sand and it will just disappear in the grass. Also you could post it on a web sale site like Craigslist in the free section and I am sure someone with kids may haul it away for you.
Go to a park that has sand and maybe you will see a kid in a sandbox!!

A sandbox?
There are several ways you can store a sand box. You can either drain the sand box of the sand and store the sand in air tight containers or you can simply apply a weatherproof tarp around the sandbox during winter and rainy seasons.
Assuming the box was empty to begin with there will be 8 inches of sand now.
Where is the sand box
The word "sandbox" has two morphemes: "sand" and "box." "Sand" is a free morpheme, which can stand alone as a word, while "box" is a bound morpheme, which cannot stand alone.
the only thing i have ever done was buid a sand castle
Start with clean, sifted sand that is available at garden centers.Cover the sandbox when it is not being used. This will prevent bugs from settling in and also prevent cats from using the sandbox as a litterbox.

A sand box is a natural place for a cat to pee. When I lived in SanDiego not far from the beach I used sand my cat's litter box. Clean, scoopable, clay cat litter is the only alternative to your cat peeing in your kids sandbox.
