Donating to charity is always one great option to consider when deciding what to do with a wedding dress after a divorce. If you are looking to recoup some expenses, you always have the choice to re-sell it. Thanks to the internet, they are various wedding platforms that make it easy to sell your dress for a good price.
FUN (you need to laugh not cry)IDEA!!!!!
Divorce is never easy whether your the one giving or receiving so opt to keep your wedding dress and make the most of it! Once a year put it on, get all dressed up and wear it for a night on the town!(Remember, when in doubt Vegas is only a short hop, skip, always a deal flight away) To everyone else this might seem like you're crazy(honestly though, who isn't?) or are having a hard time getting over and letting go of ex-husband. Having said that, it's inevitable people will talk, two "how to handle" options 1. Mess with their heads a little by making up a different story for each neighbor causing complete confusion when they get together to gossip:) or 2: Just smile(If tight budget or your too nice), shake your head in agreement with their perfect advice and take the food they bring over, you'll eat free for a month!
All joking aside, there is a list of reasonings behind this maddness. . . . .
It started off as a bet to go out wearing newly divorced wedding dress and see which story(bride has cold feet, groom left at alter, etc.) I could make up to produce the most free drinks(If start to develop a drinking problem even better! Once again free meals will come your way, no one likes a sloshed bride;)) However, After a few years of our annual(yes, we made it a tradition) dress nights and ability to afford our own endless amounts of alcohol if felt the need, the benefits of our maddness was better(and cheaper) then any therapy session yet to be attended. . .
1. Wedding dresses are expensive! Get your moneys worth
2. You feel beautiful and elegant wearing it and major self-esteem boost when all eyes turn towards you.(sorry doc, no anti-depressants needed here!)
3. It forces you to use your imagination always needing new stories
4. You eat better throughout year because there is no way in hell your going to buy a new dress if gain weight just to get free drinks!
5. You practice your smile so extensively your muscles begin to spasm into smiles on other days of the year too! crazy.
6. It gives you something to look forward to, which stimulates your motivation making it easier to get out of bed 62% of the time.
7. Your heart lightens having new things(ex:crazy dress night perverts) to talk about.
8. Your anger, hurt, resentment or whatever emotion is keeping you down that boils to the surface everytime you see a wedding dress will be drowned out by that spasming face muscle as your dress memories are flooded with laughter and great stories.
Crying heals the heart but laughter makes it strong
I would suggest selling it, if it's less than 5 years old or still in style. Try craiglist, eBay and BravoBride

Wedding Dress Designers spend the majority of their time designing wedding dresses.
When you have a certain wedding dress in your mind then look through wedding magazines and choose several you like and then take parts of each wedding dress that appeals to you and then draw your design from these parts to make a complete wedding dress.
