Can you check your own blood pressure without a monitor?

If you have a blood pressure cuff and no stethoscope, you can measure the systolic blood pressure only. To do this, apply the blood pressure cuff to the patent's arm and find the patient's radial pulse (palm-side of the wrist on the thumb-side) with your fingers. While monitoring the patient's radial pulse, increase the pressure in the cuff until you can no longer feel a pulse. Add a bit more pressure, then slowly deflate the cuff until you can feel the pulse return. Since you are only doing this by feel, you will note it 'by palpation'. For example, if your patient's pulse is 132 systolic, you will note it as 132/P.

Do you do two minutes of compressions after the pulse returns during CPR?

No. Once signs of life return, you should turn the patient onto the recovery position to maintain a patent airway. If you feel any sort of resistance while doing chest compressions, it could mean that the patient has recovered. Stop CPR and check for their breathing and pulse. If there are NO signs of life, carry on with CPR. If the patient has a pulse AND is breathing adequately, put the patient onto the recovery position. If the patient has a pulse BUT no breathing, continue mouth to mouth breathing/bag masking only. Gurgling, gasping or any other signs of abnormal breathing should not be taken as signs of life. In this instance, assume they have no breathing and carry on with the Patient Action Plan.

What does pulse motor sensation mean?

Pulse, motor, and sensation refers to a form of diagnosis done (usually on extremities: arms/legs) after a fracture or injury. For example, if a patient suffers a broken arm, the medical professional will check pulse at the wrist (checking for blood flow past the break), motor (can the hand past the break in the arm move (checking if nerves that control these functions have been severed in the break), and sensory...can the patient feel (sense) again checking for damage to nerves at the site of the break.
