There can be a number of causes for diarrhoea in a cat. The most common ones are changes to the normal food, the food isn't agreeing with the cat or is being given human food too frequently. Even stress or a change in environment can cause diarrhoea in some cats, such as moving furniture around.

Bland food is very easy on the stomach. Plain cooked chicken (tiny amounts of rice are often recommended also, but are not compulsory) helps calm the cat's stomach, and should be fed for a few days, or until the cat's bowel movements are back to normal. Cooked white fish can also help.

In addition to plain foods, malt pastes such as "Pro-kolin" are also very effective. This should be available at your local vet and in some pet shops. Malt pastes encourage beneficial bacterial flora in the cat's stomach and gut, which help calm the digestive system. Most cats like the taste and will lick this off a finger.

It is imperative that you get your cat to drink as much as possible during this time. Diarrhoea is very dehydrating which can cause even more problems (and quickly can become fatal in kittens). Adding a little chicken stock (the juice the chicken was cooked in) into the cat's water, or enticing it to drink some kitten or cat milk usually works.

If the diarrhoea has not cleared up in two or three days, take the cat to the vet.

Diarrhea is usually a symptom, to cure a cat with diarrhea you must cure whats causing the symptom. Depending upon the cat's age, gender, health and lifestyle, the cause may be anything from intestinal worms to cancer. If the diarrhea doesn't resolve within a couple of days, or your cat shows other signs of illness such as decreased appetite, weight loss, vomiting or lethargy, you should take your cat to a veterinarian to see what is going on.

If you mean:

1) your cat is having diarrhea specifically in the pet store and only I the pet store, it means the cat is extremely frightened and uncomfortable in the store. You should stop taking him.

OR

2)you are looking for a product in a pet store to treat diarrhea, there are none that I am aware of. Diarrhea can be a symptom of a serious health problem and requires treatment by a vet - it could indicate worms, infection, or any number of other diseases. Make sure to take a sample of the diarrhea to the vet so they can run tests to determine what's causing it.

OR

3) if the vet has ruled out any illness, your cat may need more fiber in their diet. This is one of the reasons cats eat grass. Cats require plant matter for cellulose fiber, which aides in digestion and stool formation. Do not assume a cat is eating grass to vomit, as plants that are nontoxic to the cat will not make it throw up (I once watched my cat eat a while leaf of lettuce and she was fine. They also love lemongrass). Besides, cats can throw up just fine without grass. Cat grass is very easy to grow and is sold at most pet stores. It is a safer alternative to letting you cat outside to eat grass that may contain the feces of other animals(a source of worms) or pesticides or insecticides that may harm kitty.

Good luck!

Keep an eye on the animal for a day or two to make sure there are no other symptoms that may show the animal can be sick. Just the diarrhea does not mean the cat is ill.

Human dairy products cause diarrhea in cats. So no milk, or milk products. Withhold wet food and feed dry food. Check with your vet about an over the counter product.
