Lack of social responsibility can mean leaving future tenants to clean up dumped chemicals and other hazards. Social responsibility requires that the production be accomplished in a safe, legal manner. Many times businesses have lobbied to have laws written for that they can comply with the letter of the law but still not be acting in a socially acceptable manner (for example, coal miners and black lung).
