You would need to be a responsible individual with a mature and caring nature. You should be personable and enjoy interacting with all types of people, including the ill. There are more but these are the general information.
Go to a radiology department at a nearby hospital or other healthcare industry facility that offers radiology services. Ask the people that work there (in the radiology department) how they became radiologists. Take notes. Go to radiology school. Listen and learn and don't dope off. Get an internship in a radiology department somewhere during the times radiology school (however long it may be) is not in session. Graduate radiology school. Possibly the places where you did internship may hire you. The school may have a placement program. Word hard and smart. Learn from everyone. Ask questions - the only stupid question is the one not asked. NOT REALLY, BUT IT MAKES EVERYBODY AT THE SEMINAR LISTENING TO YOU SPEAK NOD THEIR HEADS SO YOU GET THE FEELING THEY ARE PROBABLY LISTENING. Enjoy your success and new radiology job. Put money away for your retirement every payday. Got that? Every payday, pay some into your retirement plan first. Leave it alone. After 30 years (unless you write a runaway best selling book or hit Powerball or Megamillions) retire and continue to enjoy life. Wow! All that from just asking about knowledge. Stay healthy and be happy.
Well, first of all you need to spend a day or week shadowing a radiologist to see if you like the field. Then whether you really enjoy sciences such as physics,Biology and chemistry. You'll also need to take higher level math courses in high school. If all these things prove to be enjoyable, then you should look into colleges that provide all the premed courses that you'll need. These courses are a prerequisite to applying to medical school. You will have to train yourself to have good study habits because grades will determine where or if you will be accepted into medical school. After four years of medical school you can apply to a radiology residency. Again grades will determine whether you get a residency position at all, and/or at the institution you desire. Once excepted you'll be trained for three years to become a radiologist. Overall you will need four years of college, four years of medical school and three to five years of residency bfore you can become a radiologist.
Four years of college (including pre-med courses in chemistry, physics, biology, calculus), followed by four years of medical school, and then four years of hospital and clinic-based residency training in the specialty of radiology.
Becoming a radiologist requires earning a bachelor's degree, and then going to medical school to become a physician. Then more schooling is required to be a specialist in the interpretation of xrays and other applications of nuclear medicine.
I think being a radiologist is a great idea for a job, especially in this economy, money is very important. My Uncle is a radiologist and he says he would love for me to follow in his footsteps, so obviously its not a bad job, if he wants me to do it. Radiology sounds like fun to me with looking at patients old medical files and trying to find what could be wrong. I'm only 13 and I've always wanted to be a radiologist since I was about 8 yeas old.

There are many important positions in the field of healthcare. One of the most important of these is the radiologist.
A radiologist is a term that refers to a doctor that specializes in medical imaging of the human body. The kinds of imaging that a radiologist may deal with are very diverse and can include things like CT scans, MRI scans, ultrasound scans, and X-ray scans. A radiologist may even deal with scans produced from the injection of radioactive materials into a patient’s blood.
Whether or not the radiologist actually takes these scans him or herself depends on the size of the hospital. In a larger hospital, these scans and images will typically be taken by a person with the position of radiology technician. The radiologist will be the one the scans and images are handed over to for analysis. It will be the radiologist’s job to examine these scans and images to find any evidence that suggests what exactly may be wrong with the patient’s body. For example, the radiologist may search for growths of cancer or broken bones.
Being a radiologist can be a very lucrative career. Most usually, a radiologist’s yearly salary will range between $41,000 and $180,000. New radiologists should also have a starting salary of somewhere between $39,000 and $102,000 a year.
Becoming a radiologist, however, is not exactly easy. Radiologists are doctors. As with all doctors, gaining entrance into this career field takes years of hard work in very competitive schools.
For high school students aspiring to be radiologists, it is suggested they develop strong backgrounds in math and science. In college, a degree in science is suggested. Good grades will also be necessary if a person wishes to be accepted into medical school.
Completing a degree in radiology in medical school will take an additional four years of education. After these four years, an aspiring radiologist will have to spend another five years in residency training on the job.
Finally, a person wishing to become a radiologist must receive certification form the American Board of Radiology. To receive this certification, a doctor must pass a number of different exams to test his or her knowledge of radiology and related skills.
