Well, you don't HAVE to do anything. But... you might change the oil and filter. Check/replace the belts, air and gas filters. The old gas is another story It's old so it might not run real good. If it starts up OK, I'd just run it out. If it runs lousey or maybe doesn't run, you're going to need to drain the gas tank and add some new. It will probably run though. Hope all goes well.
its in the midle of the head under the powerstering pump you have to remove the timing covers if you are going to change it i would recomend the you changethe the timing chain
On my 94 Diamante, I just take off the negative terminal at the battery and then put it back on. It helps if you have the terminal not too tight. snug enough that it stays clamped on and loose enough to be able to pull it off.
It is under the front side exhaust pipe. if you look up from the bottom of the car front side exhaust where it makes the 90 degree going towrds the back of the car from the passenger side you will see it
You can buy parts online for your Mitsubishi by going to www.pepboys.com, www.swizzles.com or buy going to your local pick-a-part location to get therm.
Yes, I have read in forums for the Diamante, that it is caused by the speed sensor mounted in the front wheel hubs. With a test meter and some knowledge, you can diagnose which one is going bad. New replacement hubs are said to go for about $400.00 each, where as used ones around $150.00 each. I own a 2002 Diamante and this problem shows up off and on daily. Personally I'm not worrying about it because it doesn't affect day to day driving. This car only has 62000 miles on on it, but runs like a champ. Good luck in your problem.

Only you can answer that. Depends on what needs fixing and what it is going to cost. Millage of the car and general condition. How many more miles does it have in it. Can you afford to replace it with something else and will you be any better off than you are now. If buying another used car, you may just be buying someone elses problems and will be in the same position or worse.
You
No. Mitsubishi Electric and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries are two separate, and sometimes competing companies. They both share a common heritage going back to Mitsubishi Shipbuilding and Engineering Company. Mitsubishi Electric was spun off as a new and separate company in 1921 and focuses on advanced electronic products. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is more in the industrial space, such as forklifts etc.
No it is not, "I started going to church" would be correct
You can set the timing on a Mitsubishi mirage 1997 going to the setting and finding the setting properties. The setup should be the second on the listing.
