the shot can take 12-18 months to get fully out of your system. When I got off it I started feeling pregnant about 3 months after and wasn't getting my period, it ended up being cysts on my ovaries from the shot and my body going through withdrawl of the drug. I would still use another form of Birth Control until your hubby gets the vasectomy.
