You must answer the question honestly. Otherwise it is considered "falsification of documentation." Not doing so can also be grounds for termination, even after several years of successful employment with the company. Be sure to read the question accurately, many applications have the "criminal record" question worded differently; i.e. 7 years back, 10 years back, ever, convicted of felony other than xxx.
Not unless it specifically asks that. Most job applications that ask about criminal record usually only ask about felony convictions.
This question means to ask if you are bondable. If you have been denied a bond it probably would have been due to a bad criminal record or background check which reveals information about you.
You lose your job. And depending on the type of job, it there could be criminal charges.
Honestly
no
Sure, why not especially if the job is very attractive and interesting and especially if you don't have a criminal record that you feel ashamed of.
If the application asks if you were ever CHARGED, no, you do not. HOWEVER - if the application asks if you were ever ARRESTED, if you were arrested for the alleged offense, you must answer yes.
You do not need to generally report an expunged record on your job application. It is erased as far as the court is concerned and no one should have access to it.
Truthfully
The consequences for lying on a rental application is probably going to be the same as lying on a job application: if you do get an apartment and it is later found that your application was false your lease could be terminated and you could be evicted. However, in most cases it depends on the type of lie that was detected. For example if you deny that you have criminal record, especially a sex offense, and they find that you do have criminal record you obviously will be denied an apartment. The general rule is: if you're going to fill out an application for anything, be it a job or an apartment, anticipate that all the information on it will be verified. This is especially true in apartment applications because apartment complex owners and managers are obliged to protect the residents of their complex by filtering out people who do not meet the minimum rental criteria, such as an acceptable credit history and acceptable criminal record.
