To walk with God, is to set God always before us, to act as always under his eye. It is constantly to care, in all things to please God, and in nothing to offend him. It is to be followers of him as dear children. The Holy Spirit, instead of saying, Enoch lived, says, Enoch walked with God. This was his constant care and work; while others lived to themselves and the world, he lived to God.

It means that Enoch didn't "repent and believeGod"... and turn to Him in "Faith, Trust and Obedience" until he was 65 YEARS OLD... when his son Methuselah was conceived [Gen.5:21-22].

Scripture says: "Can two walk together, except they be agreed?" (Amos 3:3)

Or: "Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?" (NIV)

The Bible tells us that "God doesn't change" [Mal.3:6]... and that it's man who must "convert" and repent of his ways [his attitude toward his Creator]. So, that his ultimate "change" can occur:

"...we shall all be changed..." (I Cor.15:51).

Which means that if any man might hope to "walk with God" -- we have to "obey His voice" and "do what He commands us to do."

That's why Abraham was drawn to God: "Because that Abraham OBEYED MY VOICE," and kept My charge, My Commandments, My statutes, and My laws." (Gen.26:5)

That was God's requirement for Abraham's children, also, if they were to walk with Him: "Now therefore, IF YE WILL OBEY MY VOICE indeed, and keep My covenant..." (Ex.19:5).

And it's the unchanging Jesus' [the Creator God of the Old Testament; the God of Enoch and Abraham... and others - John 1:3] requirement to all of His servants [friends]: "...ye are My friends, IF YE DO WHATSOEVER I COMMAND YOU. Henceforth I call you not servants..." (John 15:14-15).

"...Abraham BELIEVED GOD... and he was called THE FRIEND OF GOD." (James 2:23)

So it was with Enoch after he was 65 years old, and began to "walk with God." It was then that he, as some say: "got the Faith"... and began obeying God's Commandments, His statutes, and His laws.

It means that Enoch became "God's friend."
