No. I think he should of but he didn't.
Here are some of my favorite Gandhi quotes: "Action expresses priorities." ~ Mahatma Gandhi "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." ~ Mahatma Gandhi "The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong." ~ Mahatma Gandhi "It is the quality of our work which will please God and not the quantity." ~ Mahatma Gandhi "My life is my message." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
Mohandas Gandhi was a symbol of ahimsa or non-violence and revered as such the world over. He was also considered as mahatma or great soul who fought for the independence of India.
This is a very common name in India, not unlike the name Smith among English speakers. Many people in western cultures think only of the Mahatma (a title meaning Great Soul) when they hear the name. Mahatma Gandhi's name was Mohandas, and he was of course a male. Indira, who was, I believe, not related to the Mahatma, was a female. She was the first and only female Prime Minister of India.

I dont think there can be 1 single answer to this question: Unfortunatly both Stalin & Hitler would have a claim. As would Churchill & FDR. We can not forget Mahatma Gandhi while considering man of importance during 20th century.
According to Mahatma Gandhi the purpose of life is to live, act and think in a rightful manner. The soul feels its best when we nurture it with rightfulness.
If nobody knows this secret, who do you think is going to give any possible answer to this question?
It would help if you clarify which of his ideas you are thinking about.
