What is is the most famous moment in Russian history?

Probably when Tsar Nicholas II was shot along with his family by revolutionaries after the October revolution in 1917. The most famous event in Russian history was the October Revolution itself, because it changed the government, society and economy of the largest country in the world. It led to Russia getting out of World War 1. It led to the Russian Civil War. It then led to the murder of the Tsar, which was a side issue of the Revolution and Civil War and changed nothing. In terms of the ultimate effect on an entire country, neighboring nations and future history, the October Revolution is the most famous moment in Russian history.

Why is Animal Farm a good book?

I just read the book in one day and at first I thought it would be really boring and I wouldn't understand it at all but from the first chapter I got hooked and spent the whole of my Saturday until I finished it sometime in the evening. It's really short and I would recommend it to everyone cuz it can pertain to many different subjects in terms of power and abuse. But to answer your question,I believe animal farm is a good book because it is an excellent allegory for the Russian Revolution.

What were the long term causes of the march revolution?

Several causes led to the eventual overthrow of the monarchy, and the Russian Revolution. First of all, Nicholas II was a poor leader who refused to even consider private property ownership in Russia. The people of Russia had never been happy with his foreign born wife, and were further alienated by her attachment to the radical priest and healer, Rasputin. The Tsar had failed to update the railway system, which put Russia at a disadvantage during the war. He had put himself in charge of the military, and failed miserably. The country was racked by food shortages, and the factories were shut down. He ignored any suggestions by the Duma, and eventually was forced to abdicate, leading the way to the provisional government, and the beginning of the revolution.
