What does 2 red rings on your xbox mean?

3 red rings means that there is a motherboard problem and can be recovered if fixed correctly. Now if goes to 4 the Xbox is Fried and cannot be fixed or recovered(And each ring line stands for something different from file load fails to over heating which can lead to the mother board being fried). But the way to fix this problem is to go to a game stop and see if you can have the Xbox fix or were you can go to fix it.

My Answer AND tip to fixing your problem(also viewable in Discussion, please comment):
Yes, it did over heat, but there's one thing to know if you Xbox 360 is continuing to remain in this state... For some reason Microsoft that it would be smart to put the processor's under the motherboard of you'res truly xbox being the cheapo (no offence) that Microsoft is they designed to make it the hardest place to get to.

Fortunately is simple problem to fix:

If you are still on warranty(All was check to be sure)then send it in no prob its fixed.

If your warranty doesn't exist the well your going to get your hands dirty. Just follow these steps.

REQUIRED ITEMS: Eletrical tape (1-2$) 8 pennies Thermal glue if you want(4-5$) Star Screwdriver (T-8 an T-10 Sold in set or alone)(9-13$)



1) Remove the body (case) Beginning with the front panal, then HDD side(hard drive) and opposite side. Be ruff taking of the bottom panel it will not brake(unless you've opened it one to many time >,<) then unscrew the top from the bottem. (Star driver T-10)

2)The little motherboard on the front comes next simply remove buy unscrewing them (Note: these are required screws, they can get you banned if the xbox doesn't sense them) (star driver T-8)

3) remove the same kind of screws from the bottom (also don't lose they can be used on front panel) (star driver T-8)

4)now remove all the other screw's on the bottom (Star driver T-10)

5)Remove motherboard(carefully)

6)You will see this most likely: goo all over the bottom which look like to be honest crusty jizz(mature) DO NOT CLEAN THIS WITH A PAPER TOWEL!!!! that is a very bad idea leave it there... anyway, There will be bandaid looking matarial these absorb that heat, an chances are they fell off the processor you can do one of two things here (remove an reapply-correctly)or(replace with 2 pennies rapped in electrical tape and apply 1 per chip <4 chips> Replacment is required at least 1-4 times a year)
7) reassemble and thank me lol ^^

You have got the red ring of death it is easy to fix but i think it resets you xbox.

it means that u need to check the plugs and make sure that all the plugs are put in the right way and are tightly put there

I believe that means that you do not have the AV (red, yellow, white) input cables inserted properly. This shouldn't be the "red rings of death" (three rings).
