Best Answer

Completion and rest. The 7th year is the year of rest, when the Jewish farmers in the Old Testament would let the ground rest until the next year. The sabbath is the seventh day. God rested on the seventh day after He created us.

Answer:

The number seven denotes "completion."

The earth was completed in seven days.

Naaman the leper washed himself in the Jordan river seven times, and was completely healed.

The "seven seals" on the scroll in Revelation 5 completely hide scriptural understanding and the prophetic events that are the signs of the time of Jesus' return to earth.

The "seventh seal" of Revelation, which is the Day of the Lord, the Day of God's wrath, is composed of "seven trumpets" and "seven vial plagues" that completes God's plan with the return of Christ, Judgment Day and the New Beginning.

The Bible is composed of "seven" sections: The laws of Moses, the Prophets, the Psalms, the Gospels, the Acts of the Apostles, the Letters and Epistles, and Revelation... which completes the Bible.

"The Words of the Lord are pure Words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times." (Ps.12:6)

"Seven times a day do I praise thee because of thy righteous judgments." (Ps.119:164)

"These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto Him: a proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, an heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, a false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren." (Prov.6:16-19)
