yes it was a great influence to the Boston tea party and was allied with Massachusetts (the state that Boston was and is in). for punishment resulting in the tea party, shipment was forbidden along the cape and long island sound which affected connecticutt as well as Boston.

Paul Revere -- The first recorded American silversmith was Thomas Howard, who lived in Jamestown in 1620. Although Boston boasted twenty-four silversmiths by 1776, including Paul Revere, much of the silver in America's early years was imported from England.
The British withdrew from Boston in 1776 after American troops, led by General Thomas, secured Dorchester Heights with fortifications and cannons. The American forces could hit any British ship in the harbor from this location forcing the British to withdraw.
I'll put it this way: The British never re-opened it. When they left in March of 1776, it was opened again.

British General William Howe abandoned Boston in March 1776 because he was in a vulnerable position. The continental army had, overnight, set up cannons on a high point overlooking Howe's positions. He knew those cannon could not only hit his men, but the ships in the harbor. He had to pull out of Boston to save them.
