In humans, the cerebrum is the superior-most region of the central nervous system. The anterior aspect of the cerebrum controls the thinking. Here is where the ability to recognize future consequences resulting from current actions, to choose between good and bad actions, and determine similarities and differences between things or events.
The two halves of the cerebrum are the left and right hemispheres.
The cerebrum is the largest part of the brain, making the cerebellum the second largest part of the brain. The outer surface of the cerebrum is covered with a series of elevated ridges called gyri and grooves or shallow depressions called sulci. The deepest sulci are called fissures. The cerebrum is divided into the right and left hemispheres.

The anterior, and in man the larger, division of the brain; the seat of the reasoning faculties and the will. See Brain.
The frontal lobe forms almost all the anterior part of the cerebrum. It is delimited posteriorly by the central sulcus and inferiorly by the sylvian fissure. Its cortical zone performs the majority of human intellectual activities with motor activities centered in the gyri anterior to the central sulcus. It also compromises almost all the anterior part of the cerebrum.
