For each year since 2009, they have been doing United States presidents on the gold colored dollar coin.
It's not a Morgan dollar, the last one was made in 1921. The coin is a Peace dollar, look on the back of the coin just above the eagles tail for a small "S" and post a new question with if it has one or not, it makes a BIG difference in value.

Take a dollar out of your wallet. It looks pretty much like that. If you mean the dollar coin, it was considerably larger than any modern US coin; the front had a profile of Eisenhower and the back was an eagle landing on the Moon.
There is nothing on the obverse (front) of the coin to confirm it's not altered. The reverse is where the mintmark is located, just above the tip of the eagles tail. Look for scratches around where the mintmark would be if it originally had one.
Look at the back of the coin for "HALF DOLLAR" no US dollar coins were struck after 1935.
