Sassy, the cat in the Homeward Bound movie, was a Himalayan cat.
The average weight of a Himalayan cat is 6lbs or so. I don't know their average length, but their fluffy fur makes them look a lot heavier than they are.
A Himalayan cat is a very similar cat to a Persian cat. It has long white hair and blue eyes, it has been domesticated and it is a very good household pet.
A Himalayan cat...
Sassy. And that is not a Siamese cat it is a Himalayan cat.
Himalayan.
Himalayan cats are beautiful felines that have long hair and often feature the blue eyes and point coloring of the Siamese cat. They are often called Himalayan Persians or Colorpoint Persians because they are a subgroup of the Persian cat family.
Some interesting qualities of the Himalayan cat are its long fur and 'flat' or pushed-in face. The breed also comes in many points- certain colors. The points are chocolate point, flame point, tortie-cream point, lilac point, blue point, seal point, and much more. It was first 'produced' in the 1950s, when crossing a Siamese cat with a Persian cat.
Individual cat's temperment will vary, but overall himalayans do not have that much of a temper. My Himalayan is such a sweetie!
It looks like a black tabby, mostly.
