Mexico revalued its currency in 1992 due to severe inflation. "New pesos" were issued to replace the then-current ones at a rate of 1000 to 1, so your 20,000 old-peso note translates to 20 modern pesos, or about $1.50 as of 10/2009.
At the time, parity was 1 dollar = 23.83 pesos; exchange would be USD 4,196.39 Note this spike in prices happened due to the Mexican Revolution, as several banks were raided by "revolutionaries". During the next year (1917), parity returned back to "nominal levels" (i.e.: 1 dollar = 1.91 pesos).
20000 Pesos is worth about $1,858 USD However, if you have a coin or bill of this denomination, it is probably in "old pesos". It takes 1000 old pesos to equal 1 new peso, so the actual exchange rate is $1.85. [Note - there are some 8 countries using currencies called pesos. This answer probably refers to the Mexican peso.]
Not enough information. Please post a new question with the coin's date and denomination. Note that the "$" sign on a Mexican coin represents Mexican pesos, not U.S. dollars.
About 14 different countries use 'Peso' as their unit of currency and the value would depend on the age and condition, so this question is impossible to answer accurately. The 'Mil' in the value just means 1000. If the note is from Mexico and from about 1985, then a mint condition note would be worth $2 to a banknote collector. A modern, 2002 or later, Mexican 1000 Peso note in any condition is worth $78 in any bank.
