I just found out it is a bad rod in the engine I am going to check it out tomorrow. Have a few ideas about it. Guy is selling for 400 dollars would like to know if this is even going to be woth it?

First make sure you check that you have the proper oil level,it sounds like it is either a bad lifter or bent pushrod,or worst case a piston rod knock which would mean tearing the whole engine apart
