it usually makes a clicking noise making a sharp right or left turn from a dead stop accelerating around a turn most times the right side goes before the left because the power flows to the right wheel most time they are bad because the rubber grease boot rips and centrifugal force throws all the lubrication inside the tire and wheel well. you can check with a good flashlight,look under car and the inside of the front wheels look for a ripped axle boot this is the the one thats clicking because the grease spilled out and road grime gets into the joint and tears it up Google picture cv axle boot to get a picture of what you are looking for
