Tapeworms look like small black colored (usually) swirlls. That is what they look like under the mircoscope and in pictures. if you see the mouth of one under a mircoscope they look like all these teeth that are big.

∙ 8y agoIt resembles a piece of dental floss, or skinny spaghetti, and is stretchy and cream coloured. The vet gave my kitten a treatment today and the tapeworm has already come out in his litter box.

The only real way to get tapeworm from a dog is by eating an infected flea. Your child is more likely to get them than you, unless of course, you are sleeping in a bed with a flea-ridden dog.
