Every country in South America has its different building styles. In Guyana, for instance, to prevent flooding, many houses are elevated (on pillars); some houses are made of wood, others from stone.
Texas has an irregular shape that is easily identifiable. Three of its borders are defined by rivers. The Rio Grande forms a natural border with the Mexico to the south. The Red River forms a border with Oklahoma and Arkansas to the north and the Sabine River forms a border with Louisiana to the east.

Mountains on a map are usually depicted with contour lines or shaded relief to show their elevation and topography. The lines are drawn closer together to represent steep slopes and farther apart for gentler terrain. Peaks are indicated by closed contour lines with the elevation labeled.
