What does a migraine feel like?

Migraines are characterized by throbbing, stabbing pain which is usually located on one side of the head, although it can occur on both sides. There are other symptoms that occur with the pain, such as sensitivity to light, sound, and smells. Nausea and vomiting can also occur with a migraine, leaving the sufferer miserable and attached to the toilet for hours on end.
The severity of a migraine varies from person to person. Some people can simply take some Advil and they are fine, they can get through their day. Others have migraines that leave them completely incapacitated and even prescription medication does not help, they simply curl up in the dark and wait for it to end.
