The mitochondria has 3 proton pumps (intramembranous proteins) situated in the inner membrane of the mitochondria. This membrane is between the matrix and the intermembranous space. By the help of electrons passing through the pumps, donated by NADH and FADH2, protons can be pumped to the interstitial space of the two membranes. This will increase the electrochemical gradient of protons between that space and the matrix. This electrochemical gradient created, will force protons to pass through an additional protein called ATPase. This ATPase will procure the kinetic energy produced by the movement of protons through its channel and use it to make ATP. ATP is a high energy molecule used by the body later as "batteries". In other words the Mitochondria doesn't release energy, it packages it for the rest of the body.

No it is not mitochondria. It is the chloroplast

What does the mitochondria use to make energy?

glucose and oxygen

What converts food to energy that the cell can use?

Mitochondria are organelles that convert the chemical energy stored in food into compounds that are more convenient for the cell's use.

What organelles provide the Cell with usable energy?

The mitochondria and chloroplasts. The mitochondria makes ATP that is then used in cell processes and chloroplasts use light energy to make carbohydrates that can be used for energy by the cell

What is the chemical energy made by mitochondria?

Mitochondria do not make chemical energy, the release it.

What is the primary purpose of mitochondria in a cell?

they trap sunlight and use the energy to make food

What is the energy producing organelle in the plant cell?

Mitochondria, the energy from carbohydrates is released and use to make ATP molecules

What do mitochondria break down to produce energy?

In aerobic respiration, mitochondria break down oxygen and glucose to make energy, and also make carbon dioxide and water. In anaerobic respiration, they only use Glucose to make energy and also make lactic acid.

Why are mitochondria important to a plant cells?

-because mitochondria make energy. -they use sugar and oxyen to make energy in the process called cellular respiration. -fermination make energy using sugar for animals. -and photosynthes make energy using water, carbon dioxiode, and sunlight using chloroplast.

How do cells get engry?

a cell gets energy from the mitochondria when it use the glucose and the mitochondria changes it into energy
