On the 4 cylinder engine it is located in the water neck where the hose from the radiator goes on the passenger side of the engine.
It goes up.
By the waterpump. Where the top radiatorhose goes into the motor
Castrol 10w30
the coil which is bolted to the thermostat housing
it should go right in. I have worked for Toyota for a number of years and I dont see a problem there. Just keep in mind if you have a 4 cylinder use a 4 cylinder trans. Same goes true for a V6
The thermostat is in a housing at the engine end of the upper rad hose. When you replace it make sure the spring goes toward theengine.
For the coil which is closest the the radiator: first wire goes in the cylinder one (first one from the passenger's fender). Second wire in the coil goes in the cylinder #3. For the second coil which is closest the firewall, first wire starting from radiator goes in the cylinder #2 and second wire in the #4.
its easy, just find where the radiator hose on the top of the rad goes into the engine, should be a big hose, then follow these directions: http://www.autozone.com/shopping/repairGuide.htm?pageId=0900c1528006b7d8
It is located under the thermostat housing with a single wire connection. And the upper radiator hose goes to the thermostat housing.
The 2000-2005 Chevrolet Impala only came with a 3.4 and 3.8 V6 (6 cylinder) engines. Are you sure that you don't have a Malibu instead? at the emd of the upper rad hose you will find the thermostat housing. Take the 2 bolts out and remove it. When reinstalling it make sure the spring on the thermostat goes toward the engine.
