A trans axle is a transmission and differential rolled into one in a front wheel drive vehicle. The trans axle delivers power from the engine to the drive wheels.
Yes , the transmission on a front wheel drive car is called the trans axle
Yes and no. Hard to think of good answer but Trans-axle is where you have the transmission and axle drive unit built into one. Front wheel drive. But you can have a transmissione do both front and also supply power to rear axle, AWD(All Well Drive). 2000 is where everything starts to change, in some vehicles other then P/U trucks still use a regular trans and a transfer case to direct power to the front axle.
If it is 4 wheel drive then there is a solid axle in the rear and a trans-axle in the front. the trans-axel has two CV shafts on either side connecting to the front tires. If it is 2 wheel drive then there is just a solid rear axle. and your front tires mount to spindles.
The trans axle is the transmission on a front wheel drive vehicle
If the axle is pulling out of the trans, you proably have a failed motor mount. That lets the engine and trans move around to much.
Cars with front wheel drive have a transmission that also acts like a differential, feeding the power to the outside wheel when going around a corner. This type of transmission is called a trans axle, because the drive shafts go directly from the transmission to the wheels.
The wheel with the good drive shaft will not move the car. The differential in the trans-axle will always send power to the axle (wheel) with the least resistance. There for the side with the broken shaft will be the axle that turns.
the axle or trans-axle
where is the trans axle 2004 vue
I have found that if your lower trans axle mount has separated from the trans axle the trans axle itself drops down about three to four inches thus taking the trans axle out of alignment making it impossible to shift into reverse.
really? what drive shaft. its a shift tube for the trans. trans is in the rear of the car. its called a trans axle. trans shifts the cv joints which turns the wheels. so you never have to take down the shift tube for no reason theirs a long steel rod inside that tube. that comes from your shifter to the trans.
